The ideal working conditions are between 10 and 20 °C, precisely in the spring and autumn window when most vehicles require the most intensive care anyway.

pH 7.5 and cherry scent — what sets GSF apart from other Snow Foams

There is also a limitation regarding foam appearance that deserves honesty: GSF does not produce the "shaving foam look" that looks so good on social media. Its foam is functional – dense enough to adhere and work, but not as lavish as some alkaline competitors. This is a deliberate design choice: More foam does not mean more cleaning power, but often just more chemicals and longer rinsing times.

Its place is before a new sealant application, where the old protective layer needs to be removed anyway, or on heavily contaminated vehicles that do not have a protective layer.

A practical rule of thumb: If you maintain your car regularly (every 1–2 weeks), GSF is the right choice in 95% of cases. You'll need active foam two to three times a year — typically before the spring decontamination and before the autumn sealing.

Some detailers also use a combination: first GSF as a gentle pre-wash, then targeted follow-up with an alkaline foam on heavily soiled areas (wheel arches, sills, rear). This two-foam strategy is more elaborate but delivers the best results for vehicles that haven't been washed for a long time, without subjecting the entire paintwork to an alkaline load.
