OneStepPolish on gelcoat lives from the tuned interplay between micro-abrasives and a matrix that carries but never smears. PerfectOne gives you the bite you need up front to break chalky oxidation haze, then finishes down fine and pulls a clear, low-hologram look. Because gelcoat is thermally slow, that long open time works for you: you can work the product through cleanly without chasing residue in a hurry. What you get isn’t a masked shine but an optically settled, smooth surface – perfect for laying protection down evenly.

Use on board – prep, pad choice & machine work

Use starts with a clean base: wash the boat in the shade with CleanMarine and dry it, tape off sensitive edges/fittings. For the main pass a medium foam pad on the dual-action (large throw) does the job – with more defects you can step up to a firmer pad in a controlled way, and go soft on sensitive areas. Set 3–4 pea-sized drops, spread on a low setting, then work in even crosshatches with moderate pressure until the film goes visibly thin and clear. To finish, ease off pressure/passes („jeweling“) and wipe all residue off fully with fresh microfibre. Keep it off anti-slip decks, textile/vinyl, polycarbonate/acrylic windows and matte surfaces; avoid heated areas and full sun.

Result is a deep, calm gelcoat finish with real slickness under your hand. What surfaces do I use PerfectOne on?

On smooth gelcoat and high-gloss marine painted surfaces. Don’t use it on anti-slip decks, matte surfaces, vinyl/textile or plastic windows.

Is PerfectOne enough for heavy oxidation?

For medium oxidation, yes. On heavily chalked gelcoat, run RoughCut first, then even it out with PerfectOne and seal.

Dual-action or rotary?

A dual-action (large throw) gives the safest, lowest-hologram finish on big panels. Only go rotary if you’re experienced, and settle it with a short, gentle finishing pass.

Does PerfectOne leave protection behind?

It’s all about correction & finish. For durable everyday protection, put WaxPolish or BodyGuard on straight after.

Does the polish dust?

With fresh pads, a moderate amount of product and cool panels it stays low on dust. Overloaded pads or heat push more dust – blow out/swap pads regularly.
