Properly using CeramicDetailer on wet and dry paint

The two-towel method is mandatory for GYEON Q²M CeramicDetailer — one soft microfiber towel for spreading, a second for buffing. Those who work with only one towel will smear dissolved dirt and SiO₂ residues across the paint, creating exactly the streaks that are then wrongly attributed to the product.

On dry paint: One spray per panel directly onto the paint or onto the microfiber towel, spread evenly, then buff with the dry side of the second towel. Do not work in direct sunlight — otherwise, the product will dry within seconds and will then be difficult to remove without residue.

In the shade or garage, application is much more relaxed. With a light layer of dust after 3–5 days of standing, CeramicDetailer is sufficient as the sole care between washes — a full wash is then not necessary. For best results, use a short-pile microfiber towel with 300–400 GSM — long-pile towels absorb too much product and reduce its effect on the paint.

On wet paint immediately after washing: 2–3 sprays per panel onto the wet surface, then wipe off with a drying towel in straight passes. CeramicDetailer acts as a drying aid here — the water is absorbed by the towel rather than smeared, and the SiO₂ protective layer builds up in the same step. This method saves a good 10 minutes during the weekend wash compared to separate drying and subsequent sealing.

Important for both methods: Shake the product briefly before use. The SiO₂ particles settle at the bottom of the bottle during prolonged storage — those who spray without shaking will only distribute carrier agents without active ingredients in the first spray. The disadvantage: Cure requires clean, ideally degreased paint and more care during application — on slightly soiled paint on a Thursday evening, Cure is overkill. Buff with a second, dry microfiber towel. The two-towel method is mandatory with CeramicDetailer: a single towel will smear excess SiO₂ instead of absorbing it. If you use a waffle weave towel for drying, you can use CeramicDetailer directly as a drying aid — 2–3 sprays per panel on wet paint and immediately wipe off with the drying towel.
