Contactless pre-wash for safe washing – GYEON Q²M Foam

What is GYEON Q²M Foam? GYEON Q²M Foam is a highly concentrated snow-foam cleaner for foam lances – you lay it on before the actual hand wash, it clings to the paint, softens heavy dirt and cuts the risk of scratching during the wash that follows considerably.

The first step of any proper paint wash is contactless: with GYEON Q²M Foam you wrap the car in a thick foam before hand washing – it softens heavy dirt and lifts it off the surface with zero mechanical contact. Only once the foam has broken that dirt loose does the wash mitt come out. That drops the risk of scratching massively, since most micro-scratches come from grit particles being dragged across the paint while you wash.

• Thick, clinging foam for a long dwell time. Q²M Foam builds a dense, creamy foam that grabs onto the paint instead of running straight off. That dwell time is what matters – the longer the foam sits on the paint, the more dirt it breaks loose. Less dirt at the hand-wash stage means less risk of scratching.
• Coating-safe formula – it won’t attack your sealant. Q²M Foam sits in a pH-neutral to mildly alkaline range that cleans effectively but doesn’t degrade ceramic coatings or polymer sealants. On coated cars you can run Q²M Foam as a regular pre-wash without any risk.
• A proper pre-wash pulls off enough dirt to make the hand wash easy. After a full foam pass, most of the road grime is already loose. The hand wash that follows with Q²M Bathe or Q²M Bathe+ is safer and simpler – less pressure needed, less risk of scratching.

Day-to-day from Detailing1: Lay Q²M Foam down with a foam lance on the pressure washer – that’s what gets you the right foam consistency. Dilute it about 1:10 with water in the foam-lance bottle. Work the foam on evenly from the bottom up (not top down – that way it clings to the surface longer), then let it dwell for 3–5 minutes. Rinse off with the pressure washer and go straight into the hand wash with Q²M Bathe.

Snow foam in a proper wash routine: why you can’t skip it

A contactless pre-wash is standard in proper detailing – and for good reason: most fine paint scratches don’t come from bad polishing or coatings, they come from the everyday wash. When grit gets dragged mechanically across the paint during a hand wash, it cuts into the clear coat – the classic wash marring, or swirls. Q²M Foam tackles the problem at the root: the dirt gets broken down chemically before anything touches it mechanically. The result is a wash that’s demonstrably kinder to your paint.

Q²M Foam and the two-stage wash

The ideal wash program with Q²M Foam: Stage 1 (contactless) – pressure-wash pre-rinse → foam on Q²M Foam → 3–5 minutes dwell → pressure-wash rinse. Stage 2 (contact wash) – Q²M Bathe or Q²M Bathe+ with two buckets (a dirt bucket and a rinse bucket), a soft wash mitt, working top to bottom → rinse thoroughly → dry off. Foam on different vehicle types and situations

Q²M Foam suits every vehicle type – from a city car to a van. On matte paint we’d go for a shorter dwell (2–3 minutes) followed by dedicated matte-care products. On heavily soiled cars (after off-road trips or a spell of bad weather) you can run Q²M Foam at a stronger mix (1:5) for more cleaning bite. On lightly soiled, coated cars the foam stage alone can already be enough, as long as you rinse it off hard with the pressure washer afterwards.

Foam + WetCoat: the combo for a fast wash with protection

For a really efficient wash we’d pair Q²M Foam (pre-wash) with Q²M WetCoat (wet sealant): once you’ve rinsed the foam off, spray Q²M WetCoat onto the still-wet car, let it flash for a moment and rinse. The car comes out clean and freshly sealed at the same time – all in one pass that’s done in 20–30 minutes.
