COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Porsche: Specialized Suede and Velour Leather Care

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Porsche? — This specialized suede and nubuck care preserves the structure and color of rough natural leathers in Porsche interiors — specially developed for velour, nubuck, and Alcantara.

COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Porsche) is a special care dye for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Porsche leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuck Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formulation is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent it from sticking together.

Suede-specific – Specially formulated for rough-textured natural leathers.
Preserves velour appearance – Prevents fibers from sticking or becoming smooth.
Original Porsche colors – Factory-accurate pigmentation for seamless care.

💡 Detailing1 Workshop Tip: With Porsche suede seats, we often see the same user error — customers treat suede with normal smooth leather care, which causes the fibers to stick together and look flattened. With Nubuck Fresh (Porsche) and a fine brass brush in a 5-minute care routine, the typical velour appearance is preserved. After drying, lightly brush again — this will make the fibers stand up velvety.

Brush dry, spray, work in the direction of the fibers

Nubuk Fresh (Porsche) is sprayed evenly onto the suede from a distance of 20–30 cm using a spray bottle and worked into the direction of the fibers with a soft brush. After drying, brush again for the typical velour appearance.

Before care, the suede is dry-brushed with a soft suede brush or a fine brass brush to remove dust and stubborn dirt. Afterwards, it is damp-cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Porsche) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — avoid puddles, spread immediately.

The color is worked into the direction of the fibers with a soft suede brush or a fine brass brush until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly brushed again so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour appearance is created. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for approximately 4–5 care applications on mid-range vehicles with Alcantara steering wheels and suede seats.

Suede and Velour yes, Smooth Leather no

Nubuk Fresh (Porsche) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Porsche smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes binds with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuck Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would look patchy instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Porsche vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuck Fresh is the only correct care product. If the interior consists of pigmented smooth leather, on the other hand, Leather Fresh (Porsche) or Leather Colour (Porsche) is used. For mixed equipment (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.

For Suede Seats and Alcantara Steering Wheels

Nubuk Fresh (Porsche) is the care solution for owners and detailers with genuine suede or Alcantara components — applied every 6–12 months, it keeps the leather permanently velvety and color-stable.

Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep penetration of dirt and protects the fibers from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month cycle is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are around 6 euros in material costs.

For pigmented smooth leather components in the same vehicle, Leather Fresh (Porsche) is used — both products complement each other in the workflow. Those looking for a complete care bundle for suede and smooth leather can also check out the Leather Care Set (Porsche), which contains both components.

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Porsche?

COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Porsche) is a specialized color restorer for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Porsche interiors. It maintains the texture and color without matting the fibers.

Does Nubuck Fresh also work on smooth leather?

No, Nubuck Fresh is formulated exclusively for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour. It would appear uneven on pigmented smooth leather — for that, Leather Colour or Leather Fresh (Porsche) are used.

How do I apply Nubuck Fresh correctly?

First, dry brush the suede and clean with suede cleaner. Spray Nubuck Fresh evenly from a distance of 20–30 cm. Work it in with a soft suede brush or a fine brass brush. Let dry, then brush again for a velvety appearance.

How often should I apply suede care?

As a routine maintenance, every 6–12 months. For frequent drivers, family vehicles, or lease returns, every 3–6 months, as suede gets dirty and fades faster than smooth leather.

What are the most common mistakes we see?

Three classic mistakes: (1) Using smooth leather care on suede – fibers become matted. (2) Not dusting/brushing beforehand – color becomes uneven. (3) Not brushing after drying – velour appearance remains flat.

Do I need special brushes?

Yes, a soft suede brush (crepe/natural rubber) or a fine brass brush is essential. Regular cleaning cloths would press down the fibers instead of raising them. Brushes are available as accessories from us.

Care instructions for suede (Porsche):

Nubuk Fresh (Porsche) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers - suede, nubuck, velour and Alcantara. Pigmented Porsche smooth leather is treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes bonds with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly, as the typical fiber structure is missing - the care product would appear blotchy instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are required here.

If the Porsche vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care product. If, on the other hand, the interior is made of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Porsche) or Leather Colour (Porsche) is used. For mixed equipment (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.
