COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Rolls Royce: Specialized Suede and Velour Leather Care
What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Rolls Royce? — The specialized suede and nubuck care preserves the structure and color of rough natural leathers in Rolls Royce interiors — specially developed for velour, nubuck, and Alcantara.
COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Rolls Royce) is a special care color for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Rolls Royce leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuck Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formulation is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent it from sticking together.
Suede-specific – Specially formulated for rough-textured natural leathers.
Preserves the velour look – Prevents fibers from sticking or becoming smooth.
Original Rolls Royce colors – Factory-accurate pigmentation for seamless care.
💡 Detailing1 Workshop Practical Tip: With Rolls Royce suede seats, we often see the same user error — customers treat the suede with normal smooth leather care, then the fibers stick together and look flattened. With Nubuck Fresh (Rolls Royce) and a fine brass brush in 5-minute care, the typical velour look is preserved. After drying, brush lightly again — then the fibers will stand up velvety.
Brush dry, spray, work in fiber direction
Nubuk Fresh (Rolls Royce) is sprayed evenly onto the suede with a spray bottle from a distance of 20–30 cm and worked in in the direction of the fibers with a soft brush. After drying, brush again for the typical velour look.
Before care, the suede is brushed dry with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush to remove dust and ingrained dirt. Then, it is damp cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Rolls Royce) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — avoid puddles, spread immediately.
The color is worked into the direction of the fibers with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly brushed again so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour look is created. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for about 4–5 care applications on mid-range vehicles with Alcantara steering wheels and suede seats.
Suede and velour yes, smooth leather no
Nubuk Fresh (Rolls Royce) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Rolls Royce smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.
The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes combines with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuck Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would appear blotchy rather than even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.
If the Rolls Royce vehicle has real suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuck Fresh is the only correct care. If the interior, however, is made of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Rolls Royce) or Leather Colour (Rolls Royce) are used. For mixed interiors (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.
For suede seats and Alcantara steering wheels
Nubuk Fresh (Rolls Royce) is the care solution for owners and detailers with genuine suede or Alcantara components — applied every 6–12 months, it keeps the leather permanently velvety and colorfast.
Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep penetration of dirt and protects the fibers from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month cycle is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are around 6 euros in material costs.
For pigmented smooth leather components in the same vehicle, Leather Fresh (Rolls Royce) is used — both products complement each other in the workflow. Anyone looking for a complete care bundle for suede and smooth leather can also check out the Leather Care Set (Rolls Royce), which contains both components.
COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Rolls Royce) is a specialized recoloring product for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Rolls Royce interiors. It preserves structure and color without gluing the fibers together.
Does Nubuck Fresh also work on smooth leather?
No, Nubuck Fresh is formulated exclusively for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour. On pigmented smooth leather, it would appear uneven – for that, Leather Colour or Leather Fresh (Rolls Royce) should be used.
How do I apply Nubuck Fresh correctly?
First, dry brush the suede and clean it with a suede cleaner. Spray Nubuck Fresh evenly from a distance of 20–30 cm. Work it in with a soft suede brush or a fine brass brush. Let it dry, then brush again for a velvety look.
How often should I apply suede care?
As a care routine, every 6–12 months. For frequent drivers, family vehicles, or lease returns, every 3–6 months, as suede gets dirty and fades faster than smooth leather.
What are the most common mistakes we see?
Three classics: (1) Using smooth leather care on suede – fibers get glued together. (2) Not dusting/brushing beforehand – color becomes uneven. (3) Not re-brushing after drying – velour look remains flat.
Do I need special brushes?
Yes, a soft suede brush (crepe/natural rubber) or a fine brass brush is essential. Normal care cloths would press down the fibers instead of raising them. Brushes are available as accessories from us.
Care Instructions for Suede (Rolls Royce):
Nubuk Fresh (Rolls Royce) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leather – suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Rolls Royce smooth leather is treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.
The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes combines with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing – the care would appear blotchy instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.
If the Rolls Royce vehicle has genuine suede seats, Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care product. If, on the other hand, the interior consists of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Rolls Royce) or Leather Colour (Rolls Royce) is used. For mixed interiors (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.
