The 9 litre solo CLEANLine VARIOfoam foam sprayer builds stable cleaning foam by hand pump and dials infinitely from „dry and clingy“ to „wet and gel-like“ via varioFOAM – spot on for pre-wash, wheels and big panels.
solo CLEANLine "VARIOfoam" (309 FA / FB) — 9 litre foam sprayer is your tool for when you don’t want foam „some way or other“, but exactly the way the surface needs it: clinging, controlled and repeatable. With car care in particular (pre-wash, wheel cleaning) that’s what separates a „foam show“ from real cleaning power – because foam dialled in right sits on the panel longer and gives the cleaner time to do its job. The CLEANLine foamers are built for professional cleaning duty and pair 9 litres of tank volume with 3 bar working pressure and chemical-resistant parts like FKM seals.
When foam „doesn’t work“ day-to-day, it’s rarely the cleaner’s fault – usually it’s the wrong foaming level. That’s exactly where varioFOAM plays its trump card: you don’t just set the foam roughly once, you fine-tune it as you go. The dial sits right in front of the nozzle so you can tweak the foam character in real time: drier and clingier when you want maximum grip on smooth, vertical panels (read: longer dwell time), or wetter/gel-like when you need more flow to wet contours, swage lines, badges and awkward nooks evenly.
In car care that’s worth its weight in gold: on a pre-wash you typically want foam that doesn’t run straight off, so the dirt can loosen before you go in mechanically. That lowers the risk of dragging grit „dry“ across the paint – not because the foam works magic, but because you give it the time to break down the dirt layer. And on wheels? There you often want it a touch „wetter“, so the foam creeps into the spoke beds and wets the surface evenly, instead of just clinging decoratively as a cloud on the outside. That control is exactly the difference between „foam looks good“ and „foam works well“.
What matters just as much is what you don’t have to do: no unscrewing the nozzle, no conversion, no fiddling. That’s not just convenient, it makes the process repeatable – you find your setting, remember it, and hit it again next time. And because the foam sits on the surface longer when set right, you typically cut down on aggressive scrubbing. The upshot is a workflow that feels more like a pro routine than trial and error.
What counts day-to-day: how comfortably the unit works across a whole car – and how cleanly you get the chemistry where it needs to act. The 309 FA is built as a large foamer with an extremely tough, UV-resistant polyethylene tank and brings 9 litres of nominal volume. The wide filler opening lets you pour cleaner in easily; a fill-level mark helps you dose without playing „ballpark“. The large-volume pump is built to build a working pressure of 3 bar efficiently. In car care that means an even foam pattern and longer working stretches, without topping up the pressure every few minutes.
The spray lance on the 309 FA is a 50 cm plastic tube (non-corrosive) and the hose runs 1.4 m – sounds like „small numbers“, but it makes a big difference to handling: you work your way round the front, sills and rear in control, without forcing yourself into awkward angles all the time.
On chemical compatibility, without the marketing fog: the system suits foaming neutral and acidic cleaners and is described, among other things, for limescale residue/urine stone, flash rust and laying down acidic cleaning foams; on top of that, suitability for car care, vehicle pre-wash and wheel cleaning is named explicitly. The technical heart of it is the chemical-resistant components – the FKM seals in particular – plus a nozzle setup built for foam delivery (a special flat-jet nozzle).
What does that mean for you in the detailing day-to-day? You can build your pre-wash so the foam doesn’t just „sit on top“, but wets the surface evenly and clings. After that you carry on – depending on your setup with a pressure washer, rinseless pre-soak or hand wash. And when you tackle big surfaces (shop, fleet, campers, off-road rigs) you’ll love the optional accessory options: there’s a wheel set with a handle so you can roll it instead of lugging it, and a compressed-air valve to build the pressure externally – both are provided as optional accessories. Translation: less hauling, more rhythm in the workflow.
A good foamer is at heart a „time manager“ for chemistry. The decisive lever is dwell time: on smooth, vertical surfaces a foam that’s too wet runs straight off – the active ingredients are gone before they work. An optimally set, clingy foam holds on longer, can dwell longer and so improves cleaning power. The product description addresses exactly this benefit: longer cling, better performance and less mechanical cleaning work.
Typical use cases aren’t just paint and wheels, but anything that benefits from controlled, clinging foam: sill areas, door entries, door shuts (dosed carefully), plastic add-on parts – and textile surfaces and carpets are named as suitable too. Which brings us to the next practical point: a clean foam application usually also means less needless overspray in the room, because you’re not „working into the air“ with the finest mist, but with foam that goes where you need it.
What many underrate: the combination of 9 litre volume, 3 bar working pressure and infinitely variable foam control doesn’t just make the system „stronger“, but above all more consistent. Consistency is quality in detailing: you want your foam to react on the first panel just like it does on the last. That cuts mistakes (too short a dwell time, too wet an application, too much product), saves the nerves and delivers repeatable results.
